Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about dancing in the rain.

Memorial Day at the Cabin

We invited my family up to Josh's parent's cabin for the long weekend. We got their Friday night and started off the weekend with dessert, then put the kiddos to bed, and then we had the night to catch up.
Saturday my sister Leah and her family came up  to join us. When we woke up, it appeared to be a nice day out so we headed out for a hike.

On our way back it got pretty windy so we headed in to play some Just Dance.

The wind blew so hard it knocked one of the trees over!

So, we continued to play inside and made some fun bead jewelry with the kids.

Just when we thought it would get nice enough to head to the lake, it started to snow.

The day's weather was so bizarre, but we still had a great time. It finally cleared up so we headed to the lake to walk around and skip rocks.

My nephew Ty fell asleep in the car so my sister Leah stayed in the car for a bit while he slept. When he woke up, (maybe 20 min.) my niece Brittyn was so excited to see him. I caught their reunion, these kids are so cute!

Jackson got tired on the walk and fell asleep on Josh.

Leah and her family had to head back, but the weather was still "nice" so we decided to take the ATV s out. Josh and my brother in -law Daryl took the kids for rides. They had a blast.

After a delicious steak dinner we made smore's with the kids. Neeley doesn't mess around with smore's, and got coconut mallows, giant mallows, and caramel mallows. She even had cinnamon grahams and regular ones too. They were delicious and a perfect way to end the night.

Sunday Neeley and her family left and Josh's family made their way up after church. Lee Ann made homemade Cafe Rio for dinner and we played card games on watched movies. We had such fun filled weekend with family.

garage sale

Saturday morning after I got back from my run Josh asked me to go to a couple of garage sales with him. He scoped out some potential garage sales on KSL so we headed out. We only ended up going to one because a couple was "down sizing" and moving to their 2nd home in California so they basically didn't want to move anything from their UT home. We jumped on the chance and came away with some awesome finds.

2 decor trees, 3 framed paintings, a ladder, a vase thing(you can see the top of the it right behind the seat), the board game cranium(unopened), and a dutch oven.  Drum roll please. . . all of that for only $100!! Just the 3 paintings were regularly $120 (price tags were still on them) so we definitely feel like we won the jackpot. Slowly but surely our house is becoming a home, one decoration at a time.

wedding season

Wedding season is kicking off for Josh and the rest of his DJ's. This weekend I decided to go with him to Eden. I had no idea that Eden was so beautiful.

My sister Leah was a saint and babysat Jackson, he LOVES all the attention Ike and Ty give him.

We stopped at Valley Market (who knew Eden didn't have any restaurants?) for dinner. It was actually pretty good.
Fresh ham, sliced apple, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, and mustard

Aannnd I was able to satisfy a craving, no I'm not pregnant, just a weird craving. Josh was disgusted.

Josh aka the hulk

We were entertained by these cute girls. They danced the whole time=)

I almost got a ticket

3 more weeks until race day. I set my alarm for 6am Saturday morning because I had a run date with this girl.

We planned to meet at Provo Canyon by 7am so we could get our 11 miler in and still have the rest of our day.  I'm glad I gave myself a lot of extra time to get down to Provo. I hate rushing around and feeling like I need to speed so I'm not late. I fed lil' J and gave Josh a kiss and I was out the door by 6:30am, plenty of time to meet Whit.

If you haven't been on I-15 near Provo in awhile, you're NOT missing out. My goodness, the construction is out of control! As I was getting off the exit I thought that the exit had two lanes to exit on. Nope, surprise, there were cones and a cop car and I slammed on my brakes in time for the guy next to me to let me in with no harm done. But I saw the cop pull out and start following me, great. Luckily he just gave me a warning and wanted to inform me that most of the exits during construction only have 1 lane. He even told me good luck on my run. Thanks Officer Scott Pugmire!

We ran from Nunns Park to the Provo Tabernacle. What a beautiful building, I'm so excited for it to open as a temple.

Thanks again Whit for another great run!

Post pregnancy has done crazy things to my hair, please forgive. .

Bitter Beer face

Alright, I've tried hard and I finally got a decent picture, enjoy!

Nine

Nine months this little guy has blessed our lives. Nine months and Jackson has already stolen our hearts and can get dad, who's more than willing, to party at 4am with this lil guy.

He has eyebrows that make you giggle and a 'bitter beer' face that will make you laugh out loud(I tried to capture it, I'll post it when I do). He makes lots of noises and will even say "dad dad dad" I've tried with no prevail to convince him to say "ma ma ma."
We're realizing quickly that we need a couple more gates and baby proofing items since J has become more mobile. He rolls, scoots, and crawls depending on what will get him where he wants to go faster.
J scooting to get into the garbage

He still claps and will sometimes sign 'more' but doesn't quite get it yet.

9 month stats

Height-28.3 in 44%
Weight- 21.1 pounds 55%
Head circumference- 18 in 70% (large head = big brain= genius right? riiighhhtttt)

I'm so grateful for Jackson. He's helps me be more patient which is something I really need to work on. I feel blessed to be a mom to such a spunky boy.

I thought I'd try out the baby pack again. . .um we both couldn't stop laughing, he's a bit big!

I love watching Josh with him and see their relationship grow. He truly is Josh's lil buddy.
 I wonder why. . .

Breanna's Bridal Shower

My sisters and I threw a small bridal shower for my baby sister since we weren't able to be at the WA one. We invited a couple of family members that are here in UT and it was too surreal to be at my little sisters shower. I'm still having a hard time believing the baby in the family is actually getting married.
Some of the delicious grub

Leah made mini cheese cakes, yum!

Jackson loved Abby despite the fact that it looks like he's pushing her away

My niece Bayley, she's so beautiful, Jackson, "mmm celery"

Bree, I'm so happy for you and Marcus. You're truly beautiful inside and out. Love you

Fun in the Sun

Today it was in the 90's!! My sister Leah invited us over for a slip n' slide party.
My sisters Leah and Neeley setting up fun

She brought lunches, a pool, and a slip n' slide for basically the whole neighborhood.

Lets be honest, Jackson and I ate most of the pb&j's and apple slices, I just love eating food that I didn't have to prepare even if its simple. =)

Jackson loved the water and loved all the attention his cousins gave him.
Cousin Brittyn

another picture mom?

Cousin Max taking him down the slip n' slide

Can't wait to do this more often, I'm loving the sunny weather. Jackson loved the weather and all the food I let him eat. I couldn't deny him red vines, it's his favorite!
mmm grass

no shirt kind of snack
After we came in and dried off, Jackson was even smilier(<-- it's definitely a word) than usual so I had share. . .
