4 month update

Jackson had his 4 month check up today.

He's 25.8 inches long(75%)

He weighs 17 pounds(89%)

Other fun things Jackson has learned

sits up in his bumbo

grabs things intentionally

tries to jump up and down in his lil bouncing toy

giggles

loves to drool
He hates getting woken up when he's napping(like his mom)
Other than that he's a pretty happy chill baby.  Josh and I love to play with him and make him giggle.  The Dr. gave us the okay to start feeding him solid food, but I'm not in any rush. He seems to be pretty happy with breast milk, so I think I'll wait until he's not satisfied with just breast milk anymore.  I'll keep you updated=D
4 months, 10 days old

I did it

Late last night after coming home from our date, around midnight, I signed up for my first half marathon.  I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty nervous.  I have 6 months, plenty of time, to train.  If anyone is interested in running too, sign up before December 31st for the cheapest price. You can sign up here.
Happy Running!

Christmas Tree Shopping

Maybe I should say Christmas Tree hunting. . .  While we were in WA we helped my parents find their Christmas Tree. The trees in WA are so beautiful and smell so good! I miss that in UT, but that's alright.
We went to a cute tree farm literally right down the street and started our hunt.
I'll let my billions of pictures do the rest of the talking. . .

Jackson's first tree hunt

I LOVE how WA  is so green

He looks a lot like my dad in this picture

Dad, my niece Danika, and Mom

He was grabbing at the branches

Found it!

The 'Shaker' it shakes all the water and squirrels out
The Christmas Tree hunt was a success! The sweet old man even gave us candy canes. Tis the Season.

Great Grandparents

My grandparents live next door to my parents house in WA.  Growing up we visited them every Sunday and often saw them throughout the week.  They are VERY special to me and truly exemplify the type of person I hope to be.  I feel so blessed to have lived so close to so much family and especially grandparents.
Grandma, Grandpa, cousin, me before leaving for college

My Grandma, unfortunately, suffers from Alzheimer.  She struggles to remember much of anything.

Her home, on the other hand,  has such a safe feeling to me because of the atmosphere and spirit that she always invited.  She has always been a homemaker.  I remember smelling fresh homemade bread, cookies, and fresh cleaned linens when walking into her home.  There's no doubt in my mind the positive impact a mother can make on a home.  My grandma is not capable of cleaning or cooking any longer, but she raised daughters that take the responsibility on themselves to do what she cannot. They all take turns cleaning her home and taking care of her on a daily basis.

Laura May and Gwyn have impacted generations. 39 grandchildren and over 100 great-grandchildren.
I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to be a homemaker knowing what a gift it truly is.

Seattle

During our trip to WA Josh and I took an adventure to Seattle.  We've been there before, but this time we wanted to take a ferry.
Waiting to get on the ferry

I'm not sure who Jackson saw, but he seems to be saying, 'How You doin?'

They have the same smile haha
The ferry was a great new way to get to Seattle.  I loved all the beautiful homes and skylines we saw.

As soon as we got there we had food on our mind. I was starving and we were both craving some good seafood since we don't get much in land locked UT.
Ivaars: I got the clam chowder bread bow and  Josh got a Salmon BLT. Soooo good.
We headed up to Pikes Place Market. It was the busiest I've ever seen it. Busy+ stroller= not very pleasant
Instead we made our way here
The food Network highlighted this cute little cheesecake shop and I wanted to see what the rave was about.
Need I say more?
Seattle is so beautiful in the fall.  We had a great adventure!

Thanksgiving in WA

Let's start by saying I was a bit a lot bit nervous about flying with Jackson for the first time.
"Mom stop worrying, I'm ready to raise the roof"
He did great! I took all the mommy tips and fed him or gave him his binky at take off and landing=D
This is what he did the whole flight, thank you Jackson!
My mom went all out for Thanksgiving dinner. Every single dish was delicious and I may have had 8ths or 27ths on everything. . . but who's counting?
Disclaimer: not all the food was set yet

Jackson's Thanksgiving outfit from Aunt Sarah and Joel, he LOVED it!
