Live Laugh Love

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about dancing in the rain.

I can't believe it's been 2 months since we were here
I love him so much. Josh and I laugh constantly at his silly faces and noises.
Jackson now
smiles more when we interact with him, not just when he passes gas
sleeps in his own bed 60% of the time (30% is me letting him sleep with me because I'm starting to think he's growing too fast, and the other 10% is Jackson not sleeping because he wants to be held..)
He plays this new trick when mom and dad get him all dressed and in his carseat he likes to blow out all over everything including the carseat
Holds his head up during tummy time
sleeps 5 hours at night
sucks on his entire hand (he hasn't found the thumb yet, and we try and put a pacifier in so he never finds his thumb)

Thanks Liz for the great photos! Lizettepopephotography.com

Double 2's

My Birthday started around 9am.  That's right, even baby J knew it was a special day. He slept 4 hours for the first time, letting mom sleep in.
Last Sunday my sisters had a Sunday dinner/party for me.  We all got together at my sister Neeley's and my aunt Joanne and uncle Dave came too. We had lots of food and of course better than you know what cake (thanks Bebop for making it). We also had my favorite dessert, fruit pizzas, but I ate them all before I could take a picture..
After sleeping in until 9am Baby J and I got ready for our morning walk. I got to wear my new outfit Josh got me.
Nike shorts and a top too, but no pic. sorry

Jackson loves our walks, but once I stop walking, he usually starts crying.  This is right when I need to shower off, but today he was angelic. He stayed in his car seat while I showered.
He looks like he's scowling, but I promise he's happy
Warning: Josh really spoils me. . . he also got me this beautiful painting of the Salt Lake Temple where we were married.  I love this painting, we saw it at Thai Pan awhile back and I wanted it ever since.
Still need to decorate more in our kitchen..work in progress
Josh only works a couple of minutes away, so he always comes home for lunch. Today he surprised me with my favorite kneaders salad=D
raspberries, candied pecans, spinach, and chicken (I take the onions off)
Josh knows me too well, and I can't say I didn't like it. I woke up from a nap to these beauties
The best sugar cookies from Harmons. Seriously,THE best $5 you'll ever spend

yup the size of your head, Heaven!
That night we used my Birthday coupon to Tacanos.  Best. Decsision. Ever.
My MIL even offered to watch Baby J.  It was our first time leaving him, but he did great. He loves his Grandma Lee Lee.

Best 22nd B-day!! Thank you all who made it so special!

Hymns and Bottles

This past weekend Josh and I decided to take Baby J with us to church.  He'll be 4 weeks tomorrow, so we figured he's big enough to survive the first hour of church.
As we pulled up to our building, he starting screaming like someone had pinched his chubby legs. I started to panic a bit, but he soon stopped and we made it on time to our 1pm church. I never thought it was possible to be late to 1pm church, but on regular days I'm lucky to have my shower by then.
Lately Baby J has been going through a growth spurt and wanting to eat what feels like every half hour.  I pumped a bottle for church just in case, but he was a champ and slept the whole time.
When we'd sing hymns he'd coo like he was singing a long, so cute!
This is his outfit. He didn't wear pants because he doesn't fit any of them yet and frankly, why wear pants when you've got cute chubby legs to show off?

Precious moments

No I'm not doing a blog post on those sweet porcelain dolls called Precious Moments, but on this:
Daddy comforting Jackson after he peed all over his outfit. Babies bring out the best in men.  Josh said it the best, " The first time I saw my son, I instantly felt a need to protect him. I love my little gummi bear!"
You can't see it all that well, but his outfit says, "Daddy's All star"

Perfect scenario

I've been thinking, being Grandparents is the best gig.  You get to hold and kiss and spoil the cute babies till your heart's content.  Then, when they need a diaper change, start fussing, or just spit up and blew out their diaper at the same time, you can kindly hand them back to their parents.
Jackson's grandparents LOVE him so much.  Grandpa Scott holds him all through Sunday dinners while Josh and I eat.  I'll sneak a peak at him, and he's always staring at him, smiling, and will talk to him too.  So cute! My SIL loves to hold him too, he's a lucky baby.
Grandma Lee Lee and G-pa Scott holding Calvin & Jackson

Grandma Lee Lee held both grandsons like this for about an hour, she was in heaven

mom and dad

This is what has been going on in our house lately. . .

 Because this little nugget thinks 11pm is 11am . . .
Josh has snuck a few of me and the babe sleeping too, but their on his phone. You better believe I sleep when he sleeps, even if it is 4 in the afternoon.

Bath Time

ps right after this photo, he peed ALL over, bad timing
Baby J was not a big fan of the sponge baths. Even though I kept him wrapped up the whole time, and only exposing portions of his little body to quickly soap down and then dry off, he was not a fan.
Now that we can do real baths, meaning he gets to be completely submerged in the water, he LOVES it! He'd sit in there all day if he could.  Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of him actually in the water (I only have 2 hands people) but not to worry, I'll try and take one on Saturday when Josh is home to help.
I just love his big belly, it's satisfying as a mom to see your baby plump up

All clean and happy
